World Oceans Day: Celebrating the Wildlife of the Bay We Call Home
Every year on June 8, World Oceans Day reminds us of the important role our oceans play in supporting life on Earth. Here in the Bay Area, we are fortunate to share our coastline and waterways with an incredible variety of marine life.
Harbor seals, California sea lions, sea otters, dolphins, elephant seals, and even whales can be spotted throughout our region. In recent years, whale sightings in San Francisco Bay have drawn increased attention from researchers and conservationists, highlighting the importance of protecting these remarkable animals and their habitats.
These species are more than just a beautiful part of our local environment. They are indicators of a healthy ecosystem and a reminder of the unique natural resources that surround us.
At CASS, environmental responsibility is a core part of how we operate. We sustainably manufacture low carbon aluminum made from 100% recycled aluminum, helping keep valuable materials in circulation and reducing the need to extract new resources from the earth. Through responsible recycling and manufacturing, we strive to do our part to support a cleaner, more sustainable future.
World Oceans Day is an opportunity to appreciate the wildlife around us and remember that small actions can make a difference. Whether it's recycling responsibly, reducing litter, supporting conservation efforts, or simply spending time enjoying the Bay, we all play a role in protecting the environment.
