CASS GHG Emissions Performance

San Francisco Bay Area Aerial

At CASS, sustainability is at the core of our operations. As a sustainable metal processor and recycled aluminum manufacturer, we are proud to maintain significantly low greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions at our California facility. These efforts are a clear reflection of our commitment to a cleaner, greener future.

Our dedication to environmental responsibility is demonstrated by our impressive emissions performance, which is well below the industry averages for primary aluminum production.

Our facility operates with a carbon footprint of just 896 kg CO2e/ton of aluminum produced. To put that into perspective:

• 89.0% lower than the USA average (8,108 kg CO2e/ton)

• 95.8% lower than China’s emissions (21,437 kg CO2e/ton)

• 95.3% lower than the global average for the rest of the world (19,024 kg CO2e/ton)

How Does CASS Compare?

When compared to the emissions from primary aluminum manufacturing across the globe, CASS’s secondary aluminum process is significantly more efficient and environmentally responsible:

• China: 21,437 kg CO2e/ton

• Rest of the World: 19,024 kg CO2e/ton

• USA: 8,108 kg CO2e/ton

Our emissions are much lower, demonstrating that CASS is setting a high standard for sustainability in the aluminum industry.

Why This Matters

At CASS, we are not just meeting sustainability goals—we’re leading the charge. By recycling aluminum and utilizing eco-friendly manufacturing processes, we are dramatically reducing the environmental footprint of aluminum production. This not only cuts down on energy consumption but also minimizes the use of raw materials, protecting natural resources for the future.

Our low GHG emissions figures show that it’s possible to produce high-quality aluminum without compromising on sustainability.
